Mrs Samperi is the Founder of Langua World, she came from France 9 years ago. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish and is currently learning Italian. She has taught French for more 14 years. Mrs. Samperi has lived and studied in France. She has a Master's Degree in French from UBS France and DAEFLE from the CNED France. It is an international diploma which enables you to teach French as a second language in any part of the world. Mrs. Samperi is the principal French teacher at Langua World, New York. She also organizes monthly parties for Langua World students so they can practice their knowledge of languages together. In addition, Mrs. Samperi loves to travel worldwide to learn new languages and cultures. She extensively traveled in Europe including Italy, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland as well as in North Africa. She is always open to any questions you may have about languages and cultural activities.

 Our teachers

The teachers at LANGUA WORLD are professional certified teachers with years of experience. They are native-speakers of the language they teach and fully bilingual. They utilize a variety of methods in the classroom. At LANGUA WORLD, we select a methodology according to your actual knowledge and objectives. Our methods include: Listening and reading of practical dialogues reinforced with role-playing along with the use of visual aids; reading and listening of news, articles; conversation tailored to your interests; writting (usually as homework); multimedia such as news, internet, movies, songs; grammar and verbs.

 

Some of our teachers wanted to share their experience with you:

Sandrine Samperi (French teacher):

Sandrine was born and raised in France, she has taught French since 1994.
She has graduated from L'Université Bretagne Sud in Lorient - France (Master's in French ) and recently from the CNED (Diplôme d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère).

Sandrine is registered as a Language Teacher in the French Education Ministry and has spent the past 14 years designing and implementing a specialized curriculum based on her extensive personal experiences in both France and the U.S.

Having taught children and adults both in France and New York, she is patient, flexible and willing to help you achieve your educational goals. Sandrine is the principal French teacher at Langua World and at Learn French New York.

Liudmila Gozun (Russian teacher):

Lidmila was born in Kishinev and came to the United States from Moldova in 2000. She graduated from Kishinev State University - Department of Russian Language and Literature. Then she received her Ph.D. in Philology at Post -Graduate course at Moscow State University in the field of Russian Literature. Liudmila has taught Russian Language for more than 20 years. She also prepared more then twenty quest-appearances on the Russian Television Network (WMNB -New York), focusing on Russian Literature Figures, including Tolstoy, Pushkin, Chekhov. In addition she organizes regular programs in the field of Russian culture on the Russian Radio (New York). She has about 30 publications in different monographs, magazines. Her major method is based on comparing Russian and English Languages and includes original exercises.

Saji John (Malayalam teacher):

Saji John was born and had education in Kerala, India where Malayalam is the mother tongue. He has a Master degree in Computer Applications and a Software Consultant
by profession. He had studied Malayalam as a major language besides
English up to Graduation Level. He has a diploma in Malayalam journalism from DIJAMMO(Deepika Institute of Journalism and Media Management) and received training in journalism in Deepika, a 110 years old Malayalam daily in India. He was actively participating in Malayalam literature activities at the academic level and familiar with the contemporary Malayalam literature. He taught Malayalam and Computer related subjects for the past 10 years. He gives Malayalam lessons atLangua world and lives in New Jersey.

Sun Jung Kim (Korean teacher):

Born in Seoul in South Korea, shemoved to New York to study Communication and Media Studies at NYU and earned her M.A. in 2007. Teaching Korean at Langua World is a good way to share both her language and Korean culture with people from different backgrounds. She has found that most students came to the institute since studying Korean by themselves was tough. So instead of using books, she created her own presentations which are visually friendly and easy to understand grammar. Her class materials cover all aspects of Korean language; vocabulary, grammar, syntax, basic conversation and pronunciation. Once you grasp the foundation of grammar, she will move to Korean drama scripts while listening and reading with grammar descriptions. Also, for an effective learning and consumer-oriented service, at your request, she is willing to generate and bring materials you want to learn specifically.

 

Francisco Acurero (Spanish Teacher):

Francisco was born in Maracaibo Venezuela, he graduated from the University of Zulia, in modern languages. Francisco started teaching Spanish in 1995 for oil companies such as Chevron, Texaco, Shell de Venezuela, and the oil national company Petroleos de Venezuela (P.D.V.S.A) teaching students from all over the world making emphasis in grammar, Pronunciation, Conversation and Idiomatic expressions, He moved to United Stated in 2002 and combined his time teaching Spanish and also working for the Latino community in New York City. Right now, he works for Latino commission on Aids as welll as at Langua World.

Pattarawun Srisombat (Pepo) (Thai Teacher):


Pepo was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. She is 30 years old.
She graduated from the College of Communication Arts at Assumption University where her major was Visual Arts.
She is very good in speaking, reading and writing the Thai language. She was a Producer, DJ and Reporter for the Virgin Radio station in Thailand for 5 years. Virgin Radio is one of the most popular radio stations in Thailand.
She has knowledge about Art, Music and Entertainment business because of her many experiences with Thai and International singers, songs, concerts and event activities.
She loves to teach because she loves to share her knowledge and experiences.
Studying Thai in her country is one of the subjects that children hate most because it is very difficult and the way of teaching makes it harder. That's why she has her own way to teach Thai.
Her way makes Thai easy to understand and makes the students feel good. Thai is not that hard! The Thai language is very unique and beautiful. Americans say when we talk it is like singing a song.
She loves to see the students who want to learn everything about Thailand because she is not only teaching them to speak Thai, but she also teaches them to become Thai.

Mr. Davide Policastro (Italian teacher):



Davide is italian and lives in Manhattan since 2007.
He's a recent BA graduate (University of Studies of Padua - Economics) and since he was enrolled as student he helped foreign people to learn this fantastic language!
He likes the one-to-one interaction, create lessons based on the students's needs and wishes,along with thier capabilities.
Never one lesson is the same to the others,as every student is different from the others.
Among with this teaching experiece, he worked in the Marketing and Logistic field for some years, and nowadays he works for an italian tour operator and will attend some
financial courses at Baruch College in New York.

Baiju (Gujarati teacher):

He was born and grew up in ahmedabad, gujarat, India where Gujarati is spoken at its best.
He came to the united states in 2002.
He is a computer programmer and know a host of computer languages also.
He is a native born speaker and do not miss a chance of speaking Gujarati. He studied Gujarati, Hindi and a good amount of sanskrit and other Devanagari scripts. He can also speak and write French to a fair degree. He taught Gujarati to French exchange students in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India as part of student exchange program.
The program included not just reading and writing but getting involved with locals to understand the various dialects of the language.
He has a good command over Gujarati and believe listening to the local dialogues is the best way to grasp speaking Gujarati. He covers reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary and grammar for students of every level in Gujarati.

Hak Singh (Punjabi teacher)

Hak was born in India, lived in Kuwait, London and now USA. He has proficiency in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu and knowledge of the various dialects used in different parts of the world. Learning Punjabi is fairly easy, especially for those who can speak or understand it. One can learn the simple basics to reading words to writing sentences and paragraphs in no time at all. The materials provided are scientifically designed to teach students at all levels. Hak will work at your pace and provide one-to-one consultation to ensure you fully understand what you desire to learn. You are welcomed to come learn and tap into a whole new world of experiences. Linh Lanh (Vietnamese teacher)
Linh is from Hanoi, Vietnam. She has been in the United States since 2001 and is currently pursuing Business studies in Marketing and Management. She has extensive experience in teaching English as well as Vietnamese. She also has experience giving piano lessons to kids from 3-12 years old.


Mikiko Uwabo (Japanese teacher)

Mikiko has experience in individual tutoring and classroom management. She has taught Japanese as a native language and as a second language to students from kindergarten to adults. She can teach elementary Japanese and more advanced levels. She is in the process of obtaining New York State Teacher's Certification in teaching Japanese. She has taught at NYS charter school and at a Japanese private school. Mikiko is a Summa Cum Laude graduate and a member of Phi Beta Kappa (academic honor society).

Helen Calthorpe (English teacher)

Helen Calthorpe is an American citizen, although she was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Her teaching career began in 1980 in London, where she worked as an instructor for the blind. She held this position for two years, and then abruptly turned to acting. But a few years ago, she decided to resume teaching in a different capacity, as an ESL teacher. So she underwent training in Ireland and worked briefly in New York as a private tutor. But in 2006, she traveled to China and taught pronunciation to Chinese teachers of English at Zhongyuan University in Zhengzhou and private business clients at WEB International in Wuxi. All in all, she spent a year teaching in China, and the experience has helped her greatly here in New York.

Francesco Aragona (Italian and SicilianTeacher)


Francesco graduated in Philosophy and can teach Italian and Sicilian languages. During his professional experience, he had the chance to teach several groups about Equal Opportunities in institutional meetings. In 1999, he was a tutor to individual and class lessons during an University promotional campaign. In 1995 hewas a private teacher to High School student in Italian Literature, History and Philosophy. In 2000 he worked with several PR agencies and had the chance to develop and manage several marketing and PR projects to promote products, services and corporate image of various company in different markets. Actually he is employed in an International Shipping Company in New York, and manage clients for CRM campaigns and back office services.

Jacob M. (Persian/Farsi Teacher)

Jacob is a native Persian/Farsi speaker who has a Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in Oversight and Investigations. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D degree in Criminal Justice. When not teaching Persian in Langua he works as a financial consultant in the financial district of New York City. In addition, he likes world history and culture as well. He enjoys teaching Farsi because he finds it very rewarding and satisfactory in helping someone speak a new language or simply just advancing on the language they know.

Pawel Suchon (Polish teacher)

Pawel was born in Poland and moved to the United States in 1998 . He has a BA in Philosophy and an Associates degree in Pedagogy from Jagiellonian University - the most prestigious University in Poland. During his student he was working as a Polish-English translator for an international trading company and practicing his teaching abilities at local schools and giving private polish lessons to foreigners. Pawel now teaches polish at LanguaWorld in New York and runs his own publishing company.

Dorothea Hock (German teacher)

Dorothea was born and raised in Germany. She obtained her Masters degree in Management and Marketing from the University of Stuttgart. She came to New York in 2007.
She believes in applying multiple approaches in order to learn the German language most efficiently: listening, talking, writing, reading. Depending on the student's level topics are basic conversation, German culture and whatever the student is interested in. According to the student's needs and interests she also prepares individualized exercises and texts.
